CHRISTMAS WINDOWS - SELFRIDGES, LONDON
November 2018
Propability delivers rock & roll Christmas
Collaborating with the Selfridges creative team on nine of the Christmas windows for 2018, a throw-back to the old pop and rock era taking inspiration from its rich cultural tradition and icons such as Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Debbie Harry, Jimmy Hendrix and Elvis Presley was created. Each window is based on a symbolic rock and roll scene, either a glam hotel room, dressing room or a stage performance. Producing different aspects for each of the icons including gold chrome microphones, glitzy, glitter flooring and shimmer curtains. In one, a mechanical vending machine features nine pairs of designer shoes. Constructed from laminated MDF it moves two pairs back and forth. It took over 60 hours to create with metalized vac-form silver balloons filling the ceiling of the window for that perfect party vibe. In another window, Propability adapted three rows of existing theatre seats and for another a telephone booth for Blondie’s ‘Hanging on the telephone’.
